Tracy Whitney's character had so much depth and individuality, which I thought was remarkable for a book published in the ’80s. The book carried a tone of political correctness. Tracy goes on to become a con artist pulling off seemingly impossible heists and swindles money from rich, pompous, ignorant people.įor me, it was the character -Tracy Whitney who left me spellbound and speechless. One may think this could be the end of the story, but that was just the beginning. However, in a favorable turn of events, Tracy is released from jail, and she exacts revenge against the mafia gang members. She plans to escape prison and take revenge against those who put her behind bars. The most unexpected and atrocious things happen to her in jail, which eventually toughens her mind and soul. She is wrongly framed by a mafia gang member and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. Just when Tracy Whitney, the female protagonist of the story, believes her life is perfect with a great job and a charming guy named Charles by her side, her life tumbles downward, and she faces the dark reality of life.
